Dapper little gentlemen

Who says babies don’t have style? I’ve had 2 seven month old clients and 1 three month old client this month. All three of them brough their “A game” to the session. I always thought shopping for boys would be boring. That their clothes are no where near as cute as girl clothes. That’s one of the many reasons I was so happy to be blessed with a girl. But, I must say, after seeing these three boys, I think their clothing choices are just as cute. And now I’m a little sad that I can’t have Evie wear a bow tie because that is just dashing!

First let me present Jacob. I about croaked when his Momma showed me his wardrobe. I loved all the little accessories she picked out and his tan Janie and Jack sweater is just divine!

And then little Mitchell stopped by. He did not think my jokes were funny at all but I loved capturing his full range of emotions. His plaid shirt looked so very grown up and I love how you can see my reflection if you look closely at his big beautiful eyes.

Lastly, baby Josh came by. His Momma is our dog groomer and seriously one of the nicest women I know. She groomed Romeo the day before Evie arrived and dolled him up with a pink bandana (that I kept). Josh’s blue and brown plaid shirt made his amazing blue eyes sparkle like sapphires! And you know we had to include a stuffed dog prop. My Evie kindly (….after a gentle reminder) shared him for the session.

If GQ had a baby model call, any of these boys would make the cut!

Seriously Glowing: Maternity GLORY

I must be one lucky photographer because I have the most beautiful clients ever.  Look at this Mom-to-be!  She’s positively radiant and how in love does her husband look?  MAJOR SWOON!

We tried something new for this session style wise and I think it is incredibly sexy.  I had the Mom bring along a simple white tank and a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans.  We enjoyed a good chuckle at the thought of putting on said jeans while 8 months pregnant.  But, all laughing aside, I think the resulting images are much more chic than when Moms wear maternity pants for their photos.  I actually think Calvin Klein should start considering using pregnant models for his jeans campaigns!

I leave you with this quote that just about sums up my feelings about pregnancy:

“To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman, and undoubtedly inhabited” ~ Anne Buchanan & Debra Klingsporn

Valentine’s Collaboration with The Green Crocodile: A double dose of cuteness

One of my favorites parts of having my own business is working with people I know from my “former life” as a marketer for a health care provider. I was blessed to work for a local nursing home chain for over 7 years and during those years, I met tons of terrific nurses, therapists, doctors and social workers who have been amazingly supportive of my new venture. Those of you that work in health care know that it’s not a glamorous job. That’s why I love having the opportunity to take pictures of all these fantastic people in their cute alternatives to scrubs.

So…all of this rambling brings me to the amazing Meaghan Grace of The Green Crocodile. Meaghan and I met at one of my hospital accounts. She’s one of those people who is really easy to talk to and incredibly positive. I LOVE people like that! Positivity breeds positivity! In her spare time (because a mother of two little ones has tons of spare time!), Meaghan designs amazing tutus, tulle dresses, custom shirts and ties, monster leggings, the list goes on and on! I invited Meaghan and her two super cute kids over for a little Valentine’s day mini session. The girls are wearing custom Minnie Mouse LOVE shirts that Meaghan hand made. Check out her facebook page and send her some love!

Thank goodness for all those people like Meaghan who support my passion. I’m very excited to do the same for her! You’ll see her props being used in many of my upcoming sessions including a cake smash and a newborn session.

Enjoy all this cuteness coming your way!  And you know I love a good detail shoe shot.
